Dear Owners,

The board of CS was renewed during the General Meeting on January 12th. We thank you for the trust you place in us, and rest assured that we will dedicate all our energy, willingness, and skills to the proper management of our residences.

We have expanded our team to include the following owners within the team:

Isabel Margetson-Rushmore; Mark Grunwald; David Tihay and Ceri Evans. There's a breadth of experience, duration of ownership and skill-set. We are open and welcoming to others to join, either for focussed help on key areas of need or wider support. Please email csmanoircdl@gmail.com for any details or offer of help.

We find it useful to remind everyone that the role of CS is to coordinate the relations between the management (Foncia) and the co-owners and to ensure a consultative, supportive, and controlling role over the management. The board does not have decision-making power beyond specific actions limited to the budget approved during the General Assembly. It is your votes, and only your votes, that determine the actions the management must implement under the oversight of the board of directors.

There is much to do and always something that jumps out when least expected/wanted, that has focussed our time, hence no real communication until now.

David and Ceri have offered to co-ordinate communication and they are currently assessing the best way or a number of ways to achieve this.

It must be said, Foncia, have the main responsibility and means to send information out, due to data rules restricting owner contact details to their data base. For now, we will look at a number of ways to highlight what is being updated and rely on you, as owners to read and familiarise yourself. In the past our Facebook Group has been the primary tool for owners’ communication and whilst it provides an excellent platform for owners to interact and discuss, for more formal communication and to store files etc our new Manoir Savoie website will be a better communication tool. All major information will be published on the site and all will have access to it. Please work with us, as we are all owners!

Updates to date:-

  • Gilles Larrive has stepped down as an elected member, this is likely to mean we need another member, we await Foncia's confirmation of best way to move on
  • Foncia has been requested several times for French and English communications in emails and web-site. Foncia has indicated that it has other priorities before this update.  We will re-raise this and come back to you for support in how to assist with getting the message clearly to them, for the need
  • Their recent message to owners re taking pictures of balconies has been clarified and we are awaiting for their update. Ceri works on the Lease Steering Committee and has spoken with Thomas Le Troadec, who will look into liaison with Foncia for leaseowners
  • The Ski-Room sub-committee (Thibaud, Mark and David) is working on thoughts of how to move this forward and cost it, they will report back
  • The Spa area and Swimming pool also have a sub-committee ) Jean-Mark, Isabel and Thibaud are focussing on sauna/steam room replacement as matter or urgency. In addition they are ironing out issues with swimming pool cover and more energy efficient management of jacuzzi heat retention
  • Direct payment for service charges for lease owners has been raised with Foncia and P and V and this has been agreed in principle
  • Proper accountability of P and V usage of water by P and V for laundry usage is being pushed forward on
  • Major issues with the hot water cylinders in the building need immediate focus and needs a speedy outcome. The cost could be in the region of €500k. and this may impact some of the other planned work, we will update as we know more
  • Annency Structures to check balconies for ongoing checks is being considered. It was raised about the unfortunate position of some owners who can't access their balconies still and whether this can be done in advance of the court case/insurance position that is ongoing. Its complicated but French laws and indemnity issues would work against this being done and could invalidate all the work done/expectations of outcomes, so regretably, for those affected, it is still a big issue/annoyance for them, empathy and for those was felt
  • There is ongoing painting inside, that is being done and on work in progress, ideally to be done whilst still closed season. Thibaud will support this action, by site visits, which we thank him for
  • As a committee, we have agreed a run of formal meetings to end of the year and have agreed to set various timings/days to accommodate all the members and their geographic locations/different timing needs, to maximise member participation. Once again, can we ask for those who would like to offer focussed/wider support to come forward and be part of the success

More information will follow, please send comments/requests and positive ideas in, its your apartment, building, investment and home, so we value your input as we hope you value our commitment to the CS.

For any additional information, suggestions or requests for clarification, you can, depending on the nature of your messages, send them to us at this address: csmanoircdl@gmail.com, or to our Foncia contact: jerome.mercier@foncia.com.

Wishing you all a wonderful Summer.
